Imperial Cities Tour is a tailor-made tour of Morocco that will takes into the four World Heritage Sites, the Imperial Cities of the North, the dunes, Oases and Kasbahs of the Sahara, the gorges and scenery of the Atlas Mountains, the Atlantic coast and the unforgettable souks and sights of Marrakech.

Imperila Cities Tour Itinerary:

1st Day: Casablanca – Rabat – Asilah

After picking you up at airport or hotel, we start touring Casablanca, Morocco’s commercial capital and largest city. Visit Mohammed V Square which lays claim to some of the city’s most impressive architecture, the majestic Hassan II Mosque, the Habbous District, the central market, and the residential districts of Anfa and Ain Diab, famous for their gardens, beaches, terrace cafes and restaurants. Continue to Rabat. Your sightseeing in Rabat will include the Mechouar (the ramparts and walls surrounding the Royal Palace), the majestic Mohammed V Mausoleum, the Hassan Tower and the Oudaya Kasbah, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and offering fabulous views, as well as being home to Moroccan artisan galleries. Then we continue along the stunning coastal road, to Asilah, a beautiful coastal town with its whitewashed houses, blue walls and doors, and many murals. Overnight in Asilah

2nd Day: Assilah – Tangier – Chefchaouen

After breakfast, departure to Tangier, the gateway to Africa from Europe, has always been an international melting pot. Take a tour of Tangier and explore the bustling medina, and city surrounds, and enjoy the stunning vista where the Mediterranean and Atlantic oceans meet. After lunch in Tangier we head for the enchanting mountain village of Chefchaouen, passing through the green valleys of the Rif Mountains. Chefchaouen is famous for its vivid blue rinsed houses and is popular for both tourists and Moroccans, particularly in the hot summer months. Explore Chefchaouen, with its winding lanes and narrow alleys which are home to numerous souks offering cuisine and artisan works, such as woollen items, intricate embroidery, and goats cheese; all native to the North and not found anywhere else in Morocco. Relax in the square, visit a local farm or hike in nearby parks. Overnight in Chefchaouen.

3rd Day: Chefchaouen – Fes

After your breakfast in the riad our authentic journey will start towards Volubilis crossing via Ouazzane and other Rif villages, in Volubilis we will discover the roman ruins and learn about the archeological site of Moroocan history ,after the visit of the ruins we will shift our way to Meknes city the 17 th centry heritage where we will stop for lunch and hang around the historical huge walls of the medina , Bab El Mansour and enjoy a visit of Moulay ismail s shrine .
After the visit of Meknes we will drive directly to Fes city where you will spend the night.

4th Day: Fes – Ifrane – Erg Chebbi Dunes

We will pick you up from your Hotel or Riad in Fes then drive southwards to Ifrane and Azrou by the Middle Atlas Mountains; on the way we will stop at cedar forest to see the Barbarian Ape in their natural habitat. Traveling through the Tizi Ntalghamt pass to Midelt and along the magnificent Ziz Gorges carved through volcanic rock, you’ll see views of the Middle-Atlas plateau, noticing how the scenery changes to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the city Errachidia. After lunch, we’ll continue our journey through the Ziz valley Erfoud, Rissani and Merzouga. After a glass of mint tea, we go on a camel ride to meet one of the most fascinating sight ever seen, the superb sunset in the middle of the high sand dunes of Merzouga. Then we comeback to hotel where we will spend the night and enjoy a wonderful stars view.

5th Day: Erg Chebbi Dunes – Sahara desert exploration – Erg Chebbi Dunes

Throughout the sand dunes we go for a drive on these fabulous landscapes on the edge of the Erg Chebbi, the largest sand dunes in Morocco. We will see plenty of nomadic black tents behind the sand dunes. We shall stop by a nomadic family to have tea and see what a nomadic life looks like. We go on our drive and discover the nomadic life of black African people by visiting Alkhamliya, a village where nothing has been changed through centuries. Lunch here in Alkhamliya village or we go back to our hotel and lunch there. In the afternoon will leave our luggage in a room then take the camels to a Berber camp in the middle of Erg Chebbi Sad Dunes. 20 km long and 5 km wide it is also reputed as the highest sand dunes in North Africa. It is a unique and diverse environment. The camel trek takes about 1hr 30 min from the hotel to the camp where we continue the spirit of the nomadic Berber lifestyle. There we setup our Berber tents with additional restaurant and kitchen with the dunes naturally providing basic facilities. The tents are well equipped and we provide mattresses, blankets, and cushions. After dinner we gather round the fire and enjoy the desert night perhaps with traditional Berber drums.

6th Day: Erg Chebbi Dunes – Todra’s gorges – Dades gorges

Leave the dunes behind and drive north towards to Tinerhir. We will pass by Erfoud and Jorf, whereby to discover “Khettarat”, a chain of old and dry wells, used for irrigating the farms in Xvth century. We will then ove to Tinhgir palm grove, after that we will arrive to Todra’s gorges where we will rest and eat.
After that, will walk around the gorges, whilst meditating at the high canyons. In the afternoon,we leave Todgha Gorges towards neighboring Gorges, called Dades, less gigantic, but very cool and view from the above. There the river erodes the rocks creating a beautiful landscape. Check and night in hotel.

7th Day: Dades Gorges – Rose Valley – Ouarzazate

We will start riding by the track that leads to the rose valley and the magnificent berber village of Boutghrart where we will drink tea with a local host family. We will go on along the thousand Kasbahs route observing tens of Kasbahs by the road, while hundreds of others situated inside the valley of Skoura. We continue our way passing by Ouarzazate, as “Hollywood of Africa” for being a backdrop of films due its Cinematic studios,

8th Day: Ouarzazate Ait Benhaddou – Telouet – Marrakech

After breakfast, We will visit the kasbah of Ait Behadou, another enchanting ksar, where many movies were filmed (Obelix, Gladiator, King of thrones…), after we get on the top of the hill, overlooking the Kasbah and the Ounila seasonal river. After that, we leave the site, to another Kasbah, called Telouet, located at the beginning of High Mountains. Lunch will be served in Tizi n’Tichka (2260 meters) with its beautiful landscapes. Arriving to Marrakech at the evening, drop you in your Riad .

9th Day: Marrakech – Essaouira

In the morning we will visit Guilez, the new part of Marrakech, then we leave for Essaouira, in the southern coastline (200 Kms), where we see the Mogador isle from the horizon. Once we arrive in essaouira, you will likely see flamengo birds flying around the port. Diner and overnight in a riad.

10th Day: Essaouira – Marrakech

After breakfast, we carry on the tour in Esaouira, by walking by the souk.and the Portuguese ramparts. Then we drive to Marrakech after having lunch in Chaoun on our way. Overnight in your riad.

11th Day: Marrakech – Marrakech

After breakfast in the riad , you can start exploring Marrakech ” the red city of Morocco” on your own.

12 Day: Marrakech – Casablanca Airport

After having breakfast, we transfer to Casablanca for your return flight. We would kindly ask for the date of your flight so that we adjust our time and arrive conveniently. See you off in the airport, and wishing you a nice return flight.
